WE ARE DIFFERENT BUT WE ARE THE SAME

I send my task I hope it is useful for you.

The cross curricular project I thought to improve social skills such as: respect for cultural differences, understanding, empathy... and to develop other subjects: Maths, Language, Art, Natural Science and Music is the following:

WE ARE DIFFERENT BUT WE ARE THE SAME

 (6 sessions) (Third level students)

 MATERIALS

 .- A3 Size card

.- Pencil/rubber/ruler

.- Colouring pencils, markers...

.- Scissors

.- Glue stick

.- Power Point

.- Internet

 PROCEDURE

.- In most of our classes we have students of different nationalities besides Spanish, so we will make as many groups as nationalities and in each group there will be at least three students.

.-The leader of each group will be the student of that nationality. For example, in my group there are students from: Morocco, Peru, Venezuela, Ukraine, Iran and Colombia.

.- Each group have to do  two different task: A Poster and a Power Point

.- Use Internet to find the information required and pictures and  ask the family

.- Data they have to search:

1.- Distance between  Madrid and  the capital of the country.

2.- Means of transport they can use to get there.

3.- How much the trip will cost them depending on the means of transport they use.

4.- How long it will take to arrive depending on the means of transport they use.

5.- Map that locates the country in the world

            6.- Country flag

7.- The most important soccer team/teams in the country

8.- The most common trees and animals of each country (picture/photo)

9.- The most typical food in the country (we´ll try that the day of the presentation  in front of

the class, they bring typical dishes cooked in their homes to taste them)

10.- The traditional clothes of the country (They can wear traditional clothing on the

            presentation)

11.- Famous  or typical country songs and singers

12.- The most visited places and cities

            13.- The most important monuments

            14.- Language

.-  They have to put all the data in the Poster/ Power Point as they want.

.-  They will make a presentation in front of the class so this way they´re developing their oral  skills.

When this part of the activity is finished we do an exhibition with all the posters in the corridor.

Roman Empire project

Share a History project or activity which brings History into the classroom. If you want to use any other images teaching a geographical or historical process feel free to use it. Project: Roman cities Level: 3 rd course of Primary Education This project is closely related to Unit 7 in which we have learnt about modern cities and how they are distributed (modern district, historical centre and suburbs) and so, we can compare the differences between the buildings and streets in roman times and nowadays (size, shape, materials…). First of all, we are going to watch next video in which it is said how the roman empire was founded and there is a brief explanation about roman cities. After watching the video, I will divide the class in groups of four or five. Along two weeks, we are going to elaborate different roman cities with recycled materials such as, tetrapacks, empty bottles, containers, tins, cardboards, papers… To do that, I have prepared a Powerpoint for the ...
