Timeline

Hi guys, In this activity the pupils will have to create a timeline with the Kings of Spain during Modern Age so they can  clear up any kind of confusion with the dinasties and identify clearly which century each king belongs to. After, they  will research at home some pictures of the kings and they’ll paste it next to the timeline. Finally,  it would be awesome if they can add some important event to each date, if any. It might be useful the following links: https://www.timetoast.com/timelines/the-modern-age-in-spain-00b0d674-b05c-4006-9367-abff0bb70b8b I hope this information is of interest to you. Activity: My vegetable farm

Hi everybody! The activity I propose is planned for first grade primary class. They create a vegetable farm where they "grow" vegetables and fruits, individually. It is a small class and they are only 7 kids, so no small groups are needed. This activity is related to jobs (social science) and food (english).  Material: - A3 paper - pencil / rubber / scissors - manley crayons - glue - printed images - brown paper As they are young, they have choosen their vegetables and fruits to print and then, they colour them as well as the rest of the elements. When they finish it, they have to present their vegetable farm to the rest of the class. Of course, grammar strucutres and vocabulary are practised in class. Hope you like this idea  M. The woman's day

Our kids are used to develop different activities throughout the school year, like Carnival or The worker woman day. We might employ this days to help them know more about the human being. The more they know, the better they could understand the importance it has. Unless we’re able to move them to the struggle that has meant achieving these achievements, we’ll not be able to get kids to respect and maintain them over time.   That’s our motivation to show them the whole process women had fought along the centuries to achieve this goal.   https://origins.osu.edu/connecting-history/international-womens-day Yolanda Frías

Spain in the Middle Ages

We are dealing with “Spain in the middle ages” in a 5 th  and 6 th  grade classroom.  This is an extension activity where students have to explain what they know about some aspects of the middle ages.  I want my students to describe in a written way and then orally:  -  the feudal system of this period (king, nobles-clergy-lords, knights, peasants-serfs) and how people looked like (students are learning clothes, materials and patterns in the English area and the structures of “made of”, “look like” and the past simple of regular and irregular verbs).   - How the cities were in the period of Al-Andalus (mosques, walls, forts, souk, public baths, etc) and give examples of cities where nowadays we can see these parts (Toledo, Córdoba, Granada, Ávila, etc). Students individually have to do a written description of these two mandatory points. They are allowed to have a look at the textbook and the OneNote (bloc de notas) where they have plenty of inf...

FOSSILS PROJECT

FOSSILS PROJECT SUBJECT: Social sciences and natural sciences COURSE: Level 4 of Primary Education We have been working for 2 weeks with fossils project with students from the fourth level of Primary Education. Our pupils had to make a mass with flour, salt and hot water. They were mixing the materials until they got a uniform mass. Once it was warm, they were drawing some shapes, steps, pictures using different kinds of materials such as plastic forks, stones, leaves, shells, toys which they had at home…Once they were decorated or drawn, they put the mass in the oven at 100 degrees. When the mass was cold they could understand how a step or a rest of an animal could be kept for long time. Here we can see an example of a fossil stone that students made in the project. After creating them, they had to write on their social sciences notebook the process they were following to and some conclusions they got about the way some animals, plants, objects, mater...
